The new Southend Medical Centre, 50-52 London Road has officially opened its doors to patients offering local residents in south east Essex a multitude of healthcare services.
The new medical centre contains a GP surgery, run by Dr Siddique & Dr Agha while also housing, four consulting rooms and a purpose built operating theatre.
Bespoke clinics for Dermatology, Gynaecology and Opthalmology will be available while a number of more unusual services will also be piloted including:
· An employment advisor for employees who suffer from mental health conditions to try to get them back into employment
· A Psychiatric Nurse consultant
Ian Stidston, Deputy Director of Commissioning and Contracting at NHS South East Essex said:
“The new Southend Medical Centre is a welcome addition to GP services in Southend. We hope that local residents benefit from the new premises and additional services it can offer patients.”
Dr Siddique said: "After a lot of hard work we feel we have developed this building into a modern healthcare facility, which our patients are delighted with. We'd like to acknowledge the encouragement and guidance the estates team at the PCT gave us with this project. Our aim is to continue to develop this practice and expand on the services that are currently provided."
